New STCs approved for Cessna Caravans:

Aircraft Structures International Corp. has received STC approval for its Wing Jack Pad, L.E.D. Cargo Pod Lights, and Standby Flap System Limit Switches for the Cessna Caravan 208 and 208B.
These three STCs will make the Cessna Caravan 208 and 208B safer, easier to maintain, and more convenient for all who use it, company officials said.
ASIC to install PT6A-140 engines into Caravan and Grand Caravan:

Aircraft Structures International Corp. (ASIC) announced today their plans to install the Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PT6A-140 turboprop engine (867 HP) into the Cessna Grand Caravan and the original Caravan, with Supplemental Type Certificate’s (STC’s) in place by the end of 2014. The modified Caravan will be called the ULtimate Caravan referring to the blend of power and performance.
ULtimate Grand Caravan Makes First Flight:

First flight of the Aircraft Structures International Corp. (ASIC) ULtimate Grand Caravan occurred today with the Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PT6A-140 turboprop (867 HP) engine installed. The production configured ULtimate Grand Caravan went through its planned checklist of tests and provided a glimpse of the added performance customers will enjoy with the additional horsepower.

In the hangar, technicians lower a banged up Cessna Caravan fuselage into a special fixture designed to keep the aircraft steady and upright. Throughout the next several weeks, Aircraft Structures International Corp. in Enid, Oklahoma, will carefully build the single-engine turboprop until it looks and operates like new again.
